The Key To Normalcy

Donald Trump, et. al., were recently elected because the Left had lost touch with normalcy.  Some still haven’t figured it out.  Consider, “‘Viewed through the lens of the history of African American women in the United States, the defeat of the first black woman nominee [of] a major party for the presidency by an openly racist and misogynistic candidate seemed to recall the voicelessness and vulnerability of black women during the eras of slavery and segregation, particularly in the Jim Crow south,’ said Kevin Gaines, a UVA professor of civil rights and social justice.”  Comparing the loss of an election for President of the United States to slavery and segregation clearly represents a complete loss of touch with right and wrong, good and evil.  It is just not normal. The Role of Expertise

“Experts” – the world is full of them.  We have invented entire fields of study, mostly so people can claim to be experts in them.  Sometimes the designated expert in a given field is the only person that actually cares about that field.  When expertise is about knowledge, it is benign.  But when expertise gains power, it can be truly dangerous.  Think covid – disease “experts” were given power over education and the economy to the near ruination of both. “Free Speech Was Weaponized”

Margret Brennan pretty well lost it yesterday talking to SecState Rubio, and blamed the Holocaust on “free speech.”  The assertion is looney on its face – the Holocaust was caused, as SecState noted, by hatred of Jews.  But sometimes from the mouths of fools can come wisdom.  “Free speech was weaponized,” is a phrase, taken in isolation and generalized, that contains wisdom.
